Baroness Shields recognised in top 25 innovators shaping the future of digital identity

Baroness Joanna Shields OBE has been named one of Okta's 2026 Identity 25 — an annual list recognising the top 25 innovators shaping the future of digital identity.

Now in its third year, the list honours developers, policymakers, and business leaders confronting the most pressing security challenges of the AI era, from agentic AI authentication to deepfake-driven threats to biometric security.

This year's report, released on 4 May 2026, is themed "identity is the control plane," reflecting the increasingly central role that digital identity plays in securing online life.

Joanna is recognised in her roles as Founder and CEO of Precognition, Founder of WeProtect.org, and Chair of the OpenAge Initiative — work that spans child protection, AI safety, and digital trust.
